Back to the Islands

We drove on yesterday. I’ve included this picture on our drive to show that there is traffic in some places. This is TransCanada Highway 1 near Grand Falls-Windsor.

We were driving between thunder showers.

We turned off the TCH onto Highway 340, which is aptly called Road to the Isles.

There are water and islands everywhere.

This is a very different area than the Baie Verte Peninsula, but just as pretty.

We passed pretty little islands on all sides…

and came back to Dildo Run Provincial Park for a second year.

For the next few days we’ll explore these islands.

As seen on the map you posted, THERE ARE A LOT OF ISLANDS! And in spite of that, there are highways going all over! Are you going to explore some islands that don’t have highways leading to them? One other question – what makes the rock look white in the picture “….passed pretty little islands on all sides”

We may take the ferry to Fogo Island and/or Change Islands. We won’t be boating other than that.
I have no idea about the rocks. Newfoundland has so many different kinds of exposed rocks and unless there’s a sign or a write up about a spot I don’t know what I’m seeing.
